brunswick blues

Two things I discovered in Brunswick last week. Another piece of street art by Be Free still beautifully intact and A1 Bakery's new cafe Zaatar serving a perfectly sized piece of Baklava.

this weekend

This weekend was dedicated to spending some quality time with my DSLR and some aimless wondering around the neighbourhood in the hope that we would bond. The relationship has been a little rocky to begin with as I think my heart lies with film. There are just so many buttons and my least favourite word when it comes to a camera - 'functions'! Anyway - I'm trying to keep it simple, shoot on 'M' and cross my fingers!

Happy Spring!

impossibly cool

52 Photos Project: Gallery 15 {Delicate}

I was very lucky to be spoilt recently with six packets of Impossible Project PX Cool all the way from the Barbara Frigerio Gallery in Milano. Its sad to say that this made me happier than a pair of Italian shoes!

I thought I'd use my time away in Bermagui on the NSW Sapphire Coast to play around and see what happens. I shot these with my beloved Polaroid SX70 and used the Impossible Project Frog Tongue which worked a treat. I made a couple of rookie mistakes with the first couple and bent them a little in my back pocket rather than letting them develop flat.

I love the cooler tones and that dreamy delicate quality Polaroid dreams are made of. I can't wait to use the rest of it but it may mean that I have to make my own trip to Milano to buy more film!

melbourne on film

I'm sitting here fumbling around with my fancy new Canon DSLR and I'm starting to panic! I'm so in love with shooting film on my very beautiful and very uncomplicated Nikon FM2 that I think I may struggle getting to know this new medium!

I'm trying to keep in the same headspace of shooting with my Nikon – after all photography has always been about aperture, shutter speed and ISO all carefully balanced to create correct exposure... now, if only I could find those buttons!

Here are few things I've shot around Melbourne using film. Perhaps the next post will be about my love of my new digital camera!

winter in the park

Its cold and the trees are naked but the light is soft. Time to take a break, keep warm and regroup...
