my life in pictures

So, I'm a little bit addicted to Instagram! My iPhone is the only form digital camera I have and I use it regularly as it is the camera that's always with me.

For me its a form of visual diary documenting the random things that catch my attention. But more importantly, with Instagram I can see what my friends are seeing around the world and peak into the lives of some of my favourite photographers or strangers that live in my favourite cities.

You can find me here!

reasons i love melbourne - cavallero

My all time favourite cafe slash restaurant slash bar! Cavallero you have not disappointed since the day you opened. Oh, except that time you took the bacon and egg sandwich off the menu without any warning. Luckily you replaced it with the Collingwood meatballs which seems to be a better match to your Bloody Mary anyway. Disaster averted.

Thank you for always having a seat for your locals! x

impossibly sweet and holy

I'm still experimenting with the last of my Impossible Project Silver Shade instant film and my Polaroid SX70 camera. I'm still yet to achieve the results I want but my love for this camera and film will keep me trying! There really are a lot of variables to consider with the Impossible Project film. I'm finding the extreme light and temperature sensitivity to be quite annoying but after asking a lot of questions I am beginning to understand it a little better. Hopefully the next batch of film won't end up as another expensive experiment.

its true... I heart dumplings

Hutong Dumpling Bar

Not too ago I think I required a dumpling intervention. If you're a little obsessed with these delicious little packages then I would suggest you try Hutong Dumpling Bar in Melbourne. Easily the best dumplings outside Shanghai!

its just science

A friend of mine teaches science at a lovely school in Melbourne. Visiting his class room made me  a little nostalgic for those days where looking back now, everything was so simple.

I was never a science nerd but I did hide myself away in the art room with my 2 best friends. Even back then I was searching for something different from where I was and what I was doing. I wish I could tell my high school self that was going to be a theme that would follow me forever!

walk on by

Shot using Kodak TX 400
This is the first shot I've taken with my recently purchased Olympus 35 DC Rangefinder camera, Its such a neat little thing! With completely automatic exposure it pretty much functions as a point and shoot camera (35mm of course). Although its a little limited in terms of funtionality, I find it perfect for street photography. It's compact and almost silent so I can point, focus and shoot and generally go unnoticed... which in a strange way I find really comforting as it makes me feel a little braver as a photographer!
