thirty snow whites and some little dwarfs

In my quest to improve my photography I'm trying to put myself into unfamiliar situations. Thirty kids under the age of five at a Snow White fancy dress party... is a little bit more than unfamiliar - its a little scary!

A couple of things I learnt when photographing kids - you need to spend a lot of time of the floor so don't wear light colours and there will most likely be a need for an alcoholic beverage after-woulds.

I look at these images and all I can see are my technical mistakes. I don't have a flash so they're a little noisy and I'm still learning how to best process images in Photoshop - there just seems so much more to do when it comes to digital photography. It was definitely a lot of fun and a little bit exhausting... and perhaps whistles were not the best choice of party favour!

saving the details

I'm naturally a 'big picture' person but I'm becoming more interested in remembering and documenting certain details. Its not a fear of forgetting but more a matter of trying to hold onto a certain feeling or moment before it changes. This is just a snippet of specific things in my grandparent's home that I feel are imprinted somewhere deep in my soul.

PS isn't film just lovely!

sydney side

Lucky me got to fly up to Sydney for the sole purpose of visiting the Bill Henson exhibition at the Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery followed by the Museum of Contemporary Art, anything that happened after that was a bonus!
