blue sky days

Its that time of the year again, Christmas is here and the New Year is just around the corner. I'm not really one for Christmas. I think it has something to do with not having children in the family and living in a place where it doesn't snow – the sense of Christmas magic tends to get lost when its a sweltering 40 degrees outside!

New Years is different. There is something about wrapping up an entire year, reflecting on what I have and haven't achieved and looking forward to a fresh start that I am able to get excited about.

Its been a strange year. I've definitely suffered from a lack of direction and purpose. Trying to consolidate my creative self with the self that needs to pay the mortgage has proven to be a lot more difficult than I expected.

So my plan for the new year is to have a plan!

I'm still not sure what I want to do which has been my main battle since leaving my job to escape my career. My wish for next year is to have plenty of blue sky days filled with inspiration, creative ideas and some actual follow through (which is where I tend to fall over).

I do know my camera will be a part of whatever I do. Whether its my creative outlet or perhaps part of something more. I also need to start designing again with some love and purpose and I feel things may start to become clearer and fall into place when this happens.

... that's about as far as I've gotten in my plan to have a plan, but after the year I've just had I think its a good start!

Happy New Year!
